Ephedra and Baseball MLB

Major League Baseball will provide supplements to clubhouses that will be available for players to purchase.  Some substances are legal in foreign countries, but are illegal or banned, like ephedra, in the United States. Others carry different names.

Ephedra, for example, is the commercial name for the stimulant Ephedrine. The substance is also known as Ma Huang, Xenadrine and Metabolife among other names.

Major League Baseball banned ephedra after former Baltimore Orioles pitcher Steve Bechler died during a spring training workout. A medical examiner said ephedra contributed to his death.

The NFL and World Anti-Doping Organization already have sent guidelines to NSF International. Each has a different list of substances banned by the sport.

NSF International will provide an easy way for players to have confidence in the supplements they use.

NSF International tests the products and has a continually updated list of clean products. Some of the products are already tested, but the company could take six-to-eight weeks to determine whether products are clean of the substances on the MLB list that differ from the other leagues, said Kathy Jordan, a registered dietician with NSF International.

The new idea is set to make sure players do not get punished for accidents.

New Ephedra Diet Line Made Available Through World Class Nutrition.com

World Class Nutrition announces the release of a new ephedra diet pill line of products

(PRWEB) March 17, 2006 -- World Class Nutrition has brought the new diet pill supplement line, Energy Nutrition to the Online Market. Energy Nutrition's line up of high grade ephedra supplements consists of; Powerdrine, Ripped Mahuang, and Metabo Mahuang.

These products are going to take the over the counter diet pill industry by storm. The Ephedra and Mahuang diet supplement line is going to fill the void that has been left by the ban on ephedra that was placed in April 2004. This ban however was reversed a year later, but this left a large void in the supply of ephedra diet supplements. Because no companies have been manufacturing ephedra supplements and even getting pure ephedra to make the pills is a difficult task.

Ephedra (Ephedra sinica)

Known as Ma Huang, (Ephedra) is a member of the family of herbs known as the Ephedracae. It has been used in China for more than 4000 years to treat symptoms of asthma and upper respiratory infections. Varieties of the herb are also grown in Europe, India, Australia and Afghanistan. American ephedra, native to the dry southwest, was used as tea by the early settlers, and was known as "Mormon tea" and "Squaw tea." It has also been used in the treatment of headaches, fevers, colds and hay fever. Today, compounds derived from this herb are commonly found in many over-the-counter cold and allergy medications.

Ephedra has been a widely used weight control and appetite suppressant for many years. It is effective for burning fat and controlling hunger. Many of the companies that had produced ephedra diet bills went out of business after the ban was enacted.

Now Energy Nutrition and WorldClassNutrition.com have teamed up to bring ephedra products back to the public. World Class Nutrition (WCN) has been a online supplier of over the counter diet products for 10 years. They completely follow all FDA guidelines concerning ephedra products, so should the ban on ephedra be become effective again all sales of ephedra supplements will cease at that time. A spokesman for WCN suggests taking advantage of the availability of the weight loss pills while they are available.

Thanks to these supplements real weight loss is now is now possible again with out the use of prescription drugs.
