Ephedra diet products are back and sales are soaring. The public must be protected from themselves. They are just too dumb to stay away from ephedra products. With two-thirds of U.S. adults overweight or obese and many of them unhappy about it, the public’s hunger for ephedra diet supplements is nothing new.
Ephedra diet products don’t have a lot of science behind them, but they do have billions of servings consumed safely every year for the past decade. As a notable physician once said, “I don’t need to perform a double blind, placebo controlled study to prove that black sheep exist. I just need to find a black sheep.”
Ephedra Diet Supplements Proven Safe and Effective by Public
Ephedra, the black sheep of the diet supplement industry, has been found to be safe and effective by the consuming public. If it were not so, the public would not buy it. There would be too many reports that it ineffective as a diet supplement or not safe to consume or both. Instead, sales of ephedra diet supplements have soared in the face of negative press and government intervention.

While ephedra was away, there were many new products that rushed in to fill the void. Now these products are coming under fire by the same “advocates” that have done their best to destroy the nutraceuiticals industry.
Ephedra and other diet supplements have little science behind them because there is very little money available to fund research. Natural products seldom (really never) can be patented. Patents protect a company from competition allowing it to recoup the costs associated with R&D.
